Academy Award winner Charlize Theron will be part of the live portion of the September 27th Jane Goodall Live in-theater event presented by NCM Fathom, as announced today by Michael Aisner, event producer.
Goodall and Theron who appeared together in an episode of the program Iconoclast on The Sundance Channel, are reunited for a rare live broadcast from Los Angeles to audiences in nearly 500 movie theaters nationwide. Theron, who has her own foundation – The Africa Outreach Project — will gather rare insights from Goodall, talking about her very first few days in fearsome Africa as a British girl of just 26, with only her mother. Theron will join others appearing during the live event, which includes musician Dave Matthews, as well as a special conversation between Jane and the astronauts in orbit aboard the International Space Station.
In addition, this exclusive event also includes the national debut of “Jane’s Journey,” a cinematic biography which includes special appearances by Angelina Jolie and Pierce Brosnan. Newly found 8mm footage discovered in Jane’s home attic will be revealed during the evening which offers an intimate portrait of the private person behind the world-famous icon, whose work from her maiden research trip to Africa in 1960 to the present has transformed perceptions of the relationship between humans and animals.
