Everyone in the whole world has heard of the word FEAR, especially in the horror industry. We feed off of that word, It makes us who we are as a person. Some people fear spiders others fear the dark but what does that word really mean? It means……..
“A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid”
It’s an emotion that no one likes to feel. When fear takes over your body you feel like you’re running down an empty hallway trying to free yourself but there’s no way out. You can either let it beat you or you can overcome it. Growing up and to this day my one and only fear is the Chucky doll. Every time I see that doll I tense up, start to shake and I usually start crying like a little baby. I get the same response from everyone. “You’re afraid of the Chucky doll? You know you can just kick it in the head?” Really? Geez, I didn’t know I could do that. Let me tell you this, If some crazy doll comes to life and runs after you with a knife, you wouldn’t laugh and kick it in the head. You would shit your pants and run away.
We all know that I watch a lot of horror movies so nothing scares me and when something actually does then something is wrong. Another thing, It doesn’t really scare me but it gives me really bad anxiety. I can’t watch disaster movies, they stress me out too much. I couldn’t even watch the movie 2012. I had to walk out of the room because it stressed me out so much I felt like I was going to throw up. I can watch any type of horror movie (minus Child’s Play) and I’m fine but make me watch a disaster movie or Child’s Play and I’ll be bawling in a pile of my own vomit.
It’s something that I fear, I’m always worried that Chucky is out to get me. I am not going to let this beat me, I’m going to rise up and overcome this fear. I don’t like feeling like this, no one does. I can’t let this beat me, I’m a Scream Queen after all and a Scream Queen can’t be afraid of a doll. What are your fears? What are you afraid of the most? Together we’ll help each other overcome our childhood fears.
