BB 662x1024 Comic Review: Brimstone and the Borderhounds #2

We’re back with the second instalment of Brimstone and the Borderhounds, an awesome comic book that’s been taking its readers to hell and back with the intriguing plot and the very original way of viewing the afterlife.  Issue 2 continues where the first issue left off and definitely does not fail as far as sequels are concerned.  Issue 2 is pretty straightforward as far as the storyline goes.  We still have our serial killer out and about in NYC, even though he was supposed to be dead for eight years already…  We have Brimstone being brought in to save the day too, but things seems a little out of place.  Hostile (the serial killer) has been waiting for him and so has his mommy…

If you’ve followed this series of comic books, you will know something is not right in the world of Brimstone and that there is still a long, interesting story to be told.  That’s what makes this series so awesome in my opinion.  It leaves you wanting more and more and I am surprised that nobody has thought to turn this into a regular comic.  Although, as far as I know SGN Games are turning it into a game for XBOX Live, so maybe I’m not the only one that sees the brilliance in it.

Why I particularly like Brimstone and the Borderhounds is because of the back stories of the “lesser” characters.  In the comic they call these souls, “weepers”.  What makes it fun about the “weepers” is that the creators have put in their dates of birth and dates of death whenever they come into play, which gives us a little more insight into these characters too.  There’s so many intriguing things that happens in these comics that you can’t help, but fall in love with them and read them over and over.  The mythology that gets twisted in regards to heaven and hell and the little puns kept me entertained for quite some time.  Not only that, but Brimstone is one very hot good/bad guy and the girls would enjoy looking at how perfectly sexy he has been drawn.

The artwork is reminiscent of the previous issue and again, I quite liked it.  The action keeps on coming and they keep us wanting more (that’s always a good blend) and yeah, I cannot wait to read issue 3, which I will also be reviewing to keep you lot in the know.

My opinion is to get your hands on these comic books, especially if you’re into darker comics.  Click on the image and it will take you straight to houndcomics.com where you can get your hands on it.  Believe me, you’ll want to.
