Here’s a film that looks like it will be worthy of our time. The Tall Man (not to be confused with Phantasm‘s Tall Man) is a film that seems to bring something creepy to the table with a suspenseful plot, some thrilling mysteries and a darkness that’s brewing in the form of what seems to be an urban legend that came to life.
Synopsis: “Set in the town of Cold Rock, The Tall Man is a story of the haunting secrets that hide behind closed doors. With children gone missing over the years, leaving neither a clue nor a witness, superstitious locals talk of ‘The Tall Man,’ a legendary, mysterious dark figure who takes children away never to be seen again. When a woman’s son is taken, the chase is on and with it the quest for answers: Who is the Tall Man, and what happens to the children?”
The Tall Man stars Jessica Biel, Teach Grant, Samantha Ferris, Jodelle Ferland and William B. Davis. The film was directed by Pascal Laugier (Martyrs, House of Voices) and that alone tells us what quality we can expect! In my opinion, this looks like one of those flicks you want to see.
A limited theatrical release date has been disclosed as being for the 31 August 2012. However, DVD’s will go on sale 25 September 2012. Unfortunately it seems that The Tall Man does not yet have US distribution… Hopefully that will change quickly. As for now though, why not enjoy the trailer and a few of the film stills I was able to get my hands on.
