Short Film – The Social Media Massacre: From the Womb

Garry Charles and Ron Purtree team up once again for The Social Media Massacre: From the Womb. This time around, mother has it coming and these two sickos (Charles and Purtree) gives us something very gory to watch that’s certainly not for the faint of heart. I say sickos in the most respectable way, of course…

From the Womb has a particularly creepy thing going for it as these two lunatics who met online, goes off to kill Mark’s (Shaun McGregor) mother (Robyn Bersie) as a anniversary gift to his pregnant girlfriend, Diane (Nikki Farce). This short film definitely has the psychological horror genre down, but the question remains whether or not it’s good.

Considering that it’s almost a “found footage” type of short film, I can show mercy to the directing. However, this is not the type of film for everyone to watch. The problem is that it’s maybe just a little too sick for a short film… I’m not saying it’s bad, I just feel it would have been better if it was a feature film. That way the psychological part of the flick could be stretched out and not be such a shock to the system. Keeping that in mind, sometimes a shock to the system is good. In short, I did enjoy The Social Media Massacre: From the Womb, it was gory, to the point and creepy.

You be the judge though.
