In continued efforts to deliver exciting content from across the globe Ster-Kinekor Theatres has announced the release of three new Bollywood titles. September sees the showcasing of Raaz 3 -3D, Barfi! and Heroine. The titles will be screened at Ster-Kinekor Theatres at Rosebank’s The Zone and Gateway with the first title releasing on 07 September 2012.
Bollywood horror RAAZ 3 -3D – the last in a blood-curdling trilogy – will screen from 07 September. Unique in its captivating 3D offering, which is available for the first time during the screening of the trilogy, it is a tale of erotic horrors. Directed by Vikram Bhatt and starring Bipasha Basu, it tells a story of actress Maithli who always gets offered the most fantastic roles, has won numerous awards and, is having a passionate affair with a handsome director.
However when beautiful young actress Sanjana makes her film debut, it seems that Maithli’s world comes crumbling down. Dark forces and twists of fate await when she turns to black magic in order to destroy Sanjana and get the man she loves back. This is a thrilling tale that is sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.
Barfi! is expected to inspire and delight audiences. Directed by Anurag Basu, the comedy tale of Barfi! features wit, humour and charm as Murphy, aka ‘Barfi’, is always ready with a prank up his sleeve. Popular among the ladies even though he can neither talk nor listen, Barfi’s relationship with two gorgeous women is a recipe for a comedy disaster as his life is turned upside down.
Starring A-list Bollywood super stars, Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor, Bollywood fans will fall in love with this sweet romantic couple whose chemistry on screen is intoxicating. Chopra has proved her talents when it comes to creating a realistic film romance, with titles like Teri Meri Kahaani, Agneepath and Saat Khoon Maaf under her belt. Kapoor is also no stranger to the big screen, having starred in films like Rockstar, Saawariya, and Anjaana Anjaani. Together these actors are bound to bring laughter, love and happiness to Ster-Kinekor Theatres from September 14th.
Heroine is a film that will give fans a sneak peek behind the scenes of the glamorous and sometimes scandalous dream machine called ‘Bollywood’. With fascinating characters ranging from superstars to lovers, Heroine presents audiences with a voyeuristic insight into a world they previously could only imagine.
Kareena Kapoor, known by her loving fans as Bebo, stars as the superstar heroine in the film who’s career is spiraling downwards at a fast pace. Audiences are set to share in the love, heartache, happiness, frustrations, pressures and victories of the leading lady. Kareena Kapoor is not new to star as a leading lady, after enjoying success and much critical acclaim for her role as the love interest of Salman Khan in the romantic drama Bodyguard.
Acclaimed director, Madhur Bhandarkar who received international praise for his film, Fashion, insisted that Kapoor star in this controversial and critically acclaimed film.With the main character involved in some steamy scenes, fans can expect an Indian film like no other. They will be taken on a journey that goes beyond the lives of India’s on screen sweetheart personas. This title opens on 21 September.
